Importing used Japanese trucks, buses, vans and other vehicles into Mozambique is pretty straightforward.  However, all the vehicles imported into the country after 2011 are subject to inspection without which you will have to pay heavy fines.  The inspection should be made before the vehicle is shipped to Mozambique.

Importers are advised to fill out the Pre-Advise Form (PAF) for the purpose of inspection. After receiving PAF from the importer, Intertek will contact exporter and arrange inspection before shipment. Report of the completion of inspection will be forwarded to Intertek Mozambique and they will issue DUC (* Documento Unico Certificado) to the importer. Please submit that certificate to the relevant authorities along with other necessary documents. Also complete the clearing procedure for the truck imported by you.
