First Generation (2004–2013)

In 2004, Nissan introduced a car titled Nissan Tone Concept. The car was a 5-door hatch with an intelligent key. The retail Nissan Note is designed exactly as the Nissan Tone Concept.  The company introduced this car in 2005. Early models of Nissan Note were unveiled with 4 engine options (1.4L, 1.6L gasoline) and (2, 1.5L diesel).

The car is somewhat similar to Renault Modus. Its direct competitors are Opel/Vauxhall Meriva and Citroen C3 Picasso.  It also competes with Renault Modus in European markets.

Second Generation (2012–present)

Nissan Motor Company redesigned Nissan Note on the V-platform. In 2012.  They started selling the car in the Japanese market alongside the Nissan Micra and Nissan Juke.

Major Update in 2017

Nissan Motor had a major update of the car in 2017 when it introduced a hybrid version of the car.  The company`s e-Power hybrid system consists of a small 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric traction motor. But unlike the power-split hybrids being offered by its competitors, it propels the wheels solely with the electric motor. The small engine only charges the battery.
